Biocompatibility and Toxicity
As patients demand safer materials, biocompatibility is becoming critical. New 3D printing resins are being evaluated using protocols to assess both short- and long-term biocompatibility. These photopolymers, often acrylate-based, require rigorous testing. The team will continue assessing potential toxic monomer release and endocrine disruptors in collaboration with Oro-facial Pathophysiology and Tissue Engineering team, aiming to alert both professionals and regulatory agencies. The goal is to reinforce the team’s role as a reference in dental biomaterials safety with health authorities such as HAS, ANSM, and Anses.
