Equipments
Fab3D – Equipment park for the design and prototyping of innovative medical devices using digital technologies.
Fab 3D is structured around a 40 m² 3D printing laboratory dedicated to production and a design office for digital simulation, 3D scanning, and 3D modelling. The design office is equipped with two 3D scanners and four computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing workstations running Dassault Systèmes’ 3DExperience software, dedicated to 3D modeling and mechanical simulation. The 3D printing laboratory is equipped with fused filament fabrication 3D printer systems for polymers, silicones and ceramics (Lynxter S600D; Bambu X1 Carbon; 3D PotterBot 10 Micro; Creality: under 3 V2, K1 max; Ultimaker: 2+, 3 extended, S5) and VAT photopolymerisation 3D printer systems for photopolymers (FormLabs: Form 3BL, Form 3B, Form 4, FormCure L, FormWash L; Sprintray Pro 95S; Anycubic: Photon Mono M7, Cure 3; Phrozen: Sonic 8K, Sonic Mini 8K S; Elegoo Mars 3)
MecaMat – Equipment park for the mechanical and physicochemical characterisation of materials
MecaMat comprises two mechanical testing laboratories and a materials laboratory. Quasi-static mechanical tests are carried out using two universal testing machines (Shimadzu, Instron) equipped with tensile/compression testing devices, three-point bending testing devices, a biaxial bending testing device, a deflectometer, and force sensors with a capacity of 100 N, 2 kN, and 5 kN. A 4-chamber instrumented fatigue/friction testing machine (chewing simulator: CS-4.4, SD Mechatronik) is used for wear testing. An FTIR spectrometer (Thermo Fisher) and a spectrophotometer (Shimadzu Agilent) are used for the chemical and optical characterisation of materials. A focal variation microscope (Bruker Alicona) is used for surface inspection and structural analysis of materials. Several devices are available for sample preparation: a low-speed precision milling machine (Isomet), a pyramitome for thin samples, polishing devices, and two furnaces for heat treatment of ceramics.
